I need dental work

I am a recovered methamphetamine user. My teeth were bad before I used meth but since then they have started cracking, breaking and falling out. I have nightmares about all my teeth falling out when I try to brush them. I don't smile or laugh unless I'm around true friends and even than I feel self conscience. My face is swollen today as I edit this page because I have an infection down in the nerves of my tooth.   I need to find a dentist/clinic in TX (I live near Austin) who will do free or discounted services. I need all my teeth(whats left of them) removed and replaced with dentures. I have done internet research to try to find a dentist that does pro bono but cannot seem to find one. Donated services (TXDA) will only help you is you are over 65 or disabled. I can't get Medicaid. I have a very caring friend who has donated $500 dollars to my "dental fund" but thats not enough to even have all them extracted. I need 8 complex extractions(no tooth left above gumline , tooth is rotted below gumline, needs to be cut out) which are $110 per tooth, and 16 simple extractions which are $85 per tooth.(These are the cheapest rates I have found) I have found a place where I can get dentures for $375.

I am a recovering Meth addict. I have been in recovery for 15 yrs and have not smiled for 10... today I am a productive member of society... its hard ffor me every day to be comfortable at my job.. I am a school bus driver and I smile to the kids without showing my teeth. I would be so greatfull if I could find a dentist to help with my problem.. I don't make a lot of money and I can't afford any medical.. arizona is a hard place to get affordable medical

 in response to cleanandsober8years...   Were you ever able to find any help? I am also here in Washington State and have the same issue as you. I'm 34 yo and have been in recovery for almost a year now. I haven't been able to find a job and I know that has alot to do with the condition of my teeth caused by my meth use. I haven't been able to find ANYWHERE to be able to receive assistance with this problem. Please let me know if you were able to find any resources out there that are willing to help. Thank you.

Sweetheart I am in the same situation as you. That meth really did a job on my teeth too. If you find a dentist that is willing to help please let me know. I am praying for you and me. Hang in there,

i have been clean for almost 8 years whin i found out i was going to have a son i stoped all drugs i still smoke cigerets. Now my teeth are to the point i cant even play with my kids cuz my teeth hurt and i cant find help in washington state and it sucks cuz i want to play with my kids. i am with out a job becaus i dont smile whin i try and get a good job my wife works but we just get by with bills so no cash for teeth my wife loves me no matter what and i love her but i just want to be abble to smille at her from across the room if any one out there can help me find a place that can help pleas email me at thumper9112010@gmail.com thank you clean and sober 8 years and counting and to those who are stugling keep your head up meth is not worth it in the long run im praying for all of you

my name is Jessica and i am a recovering meth addict also, i have the exact same problems and feelings that you do about your smile! i have also been searching online to find some type of dentist that could help me with my teeth but as far as pro bono work; lets just say my search continues. I just recently had an abscessed tooth removed from a place called "Christian dental clinic" in downtown S.A. here is their phone number: 210-226-8041 Maybe they can help you take care of atleast one tooth at a time. Aslong as you have an i.d and sscard you may be able to qualify for their low income dental work. As for me i still dont have an id so I have to wait. Praying helps, we are somehow blessed with the power to endure, all things. And if we could come out of the tweeker world with our lives then anything is possible! God bless you and good luck.

I asked the VA to pull it but they keep tell me that Ihave to be 100% disabled. I am 50% disabled. Before I got approved for my disability they were saying the same thing but now that Iam disabled, they say the same thing over and oever again. I am so tired of this doggone Veterans hospital, I go there because I do not have to pay for my medical care but I do not have a dime to my name to have these teeth extracted. so I have been searching for dentist who does probonos. I was told to look for dentist like these!! Anyone have any ideas?

Hi my name is christy and i truly understand where you are coming from i am 22 years old and i have the same proublem i have been clean for 10 monthes for myself and my children all my teeth are starting to break and chip away and dont want this for my life.

I am sorry, but I have to warn you about you saying your a recovered addict. Once you make this assumption about yourself, you open the door for relapse. Please continue going to NA meetings. If you have not been, please go. This will only help, not hurt, I swear.

Asking for financial help is not necessary as there are programs in place to assist you for free.

 in response to PISSED OFF...   well i am glad you have never used drugs. but there are plenty of resourses for perfect people too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you are judgeing people when i am sure you have done things , and made the wrong choices too!!! and maybe if you changed your attitude you would not be a single mom, and some one would want to help you! you just want somr one to feel sorry for you. i have paid dearly for my mistakes. so you need to stop judgeing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     to the pissed off person
